Dr Richard M Marshall

I've always liked to build things. Since I outgrew Lego I've been building software, development teams and most recently companies.

I'm Founder and CTO of Rapid Mobile Media Ltd in Edinburgh, Scotland. We founded the company in February 2004. We mobilise applications, but are now focussing on Ad360 Mobile Advertising Platform.

I like to think of us as creating mobile applications that people actually use, but we go much deeper than that.

This blog, however, is much more about my observations on the last frontier, the world of mobile technology. And anything else that crosses my path.

Apple Update - what are they playing at?

Just installed a new iTunes in the hope that it would fix the appalling non-refresh bug it so obvious exhibits on Vista. (Did they actually try it before shipping?) And of course I get the option of installing Safari. Twice actually, which really is pushing people’s patience.

So off goes the iTunes install. I’ve no idea what the installer did, but it caused Outlook to crash such that it failed on restart, lost its quickstart icon and added QuickTime to my  quickstart bar which I didn’t request.

I had to restart Vista to get Outlook running again and the iTunes icon had still been zapped. I just deleted it. And the QuickTime one too.

And it asked if I wanted to install Safari yet again.
