No Train of Thought
Why can’t we get mobile networks that serve our rail links in the UK? I was in Glasgow for a while today, and took the short train journey over. Calls drop out for no apparent reason, tunnels don’t have repeaters, and hundreds of frustrated customers bemoan the inadequate service.
The rail link from London City to Stansted Airport is the same. Random drops and poor signal for no apparent reason all the way to the airport. Not impressive.

Similar topography in Denmark. Phone works all the time in my expeirence.
But then, the Danes do have entire carriages dedicated to children/famlies with mini playgrounds, etc. so other passengers can travel in peace.
Part of the answer is in the culture. Try this: get onto the people responsible for the Stanstead link and suggest that they get their act sorted out coverage-wise. See how far you get …

It would hard enough to figure out who owns the track, let along call them!
France has kids cars on some of the TGV services too. In the UK we’re just pleased to get a seat. How sad is that.

Well, they do have “silent” coaches! The problem of noise isn’t just phones, it’s families, loud music etc.
